Power Tools
Power tools and machines are an important aspect of mechanical work. Students working on this specialization should be able to identify and properly use any power tools or machines available in the robotics shop.
Skilled Level:
- Know proper names and locations of power tools in the lab
- Know proper usage of power tools in the lab
- Know proper storage of handheld power tools in the lab (ie. put the tool back where it belongs)
- Participate in power tool safety training
Independent Level:
- Identify hardware types
- Identify tools to be used for each piece of hardware
- Demonstrate safe and proper usage of all power tools in the lab
- Drill press

- Sander
- Handheld power tools

- Dremel
- Circular Saw
- Jigsaw
- Hacksaw
- Mini-Band Saw
- Oscillating saw
- Battery Packs & chargers
Leader Level:
- Lead or assist with tool and safety training.
- Ability to demonstrate all SKILLED and INDEPENDENT level subjects to others.
- Take on a more leadership-oriented role in a project in this area. Discuss your experience with a Mentor. What are some of the things you did to help your team? What were some of the challenges you faced?
