CAD
Visual representation of designs and parts are an important part of creating a final product. Students working toward CAD specialization will be able to create technical drawings and models both by hand and using software.
Skilled Level:
- Be able to interpret given technical drawings
- Be able to measure parts in order to recreate them digitally
- Be able to create basic 3D models using Onshape
- Be able to create rough hand sketches of designs that convey ideas
Independent Level:
- Be able to create multiview drawings of models using Onshape
- Be able to create assemblies using Onshape
- Be able to create basic 2D custom models
- Know robot design restrictions from rulebook (needs to be demonstrated each year)
Leader Level:
- Be able to create custom models independently
- Be able to use technical drawings to fabricate parts independently
- Be able to guide/teach others on how to use CAD software
